Deborah Adele - Yamas + Niyamas Weekend

Deborah Adele - Yamas + Niyamas Weekend

Meditation:  The Essence of the Practice - Friday 7:30 - 9:30 pm

Ever feel confused about mediation or wonder what your mind is supposed to be doing (or not doing)? In this workshop we’ll look at the essence of meditation through the eyes of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra to help us navigate the complexities of this process and the questions that arise as we engage our practice. For those wishing to begin, maintain, or deepen a practice. Lecture interspersed with practice.  Bring what you need to sit comfortably for meditation.

A Life Well Lived Today!  Moving Through Life with the Yamas - Saturday 1 - 4 pm

In the preface of her book, The Yamas & Niyamas:  Exploring Yoga's Ethical Practice, Deborah Adele says, "We all want to live well.  Let's face it, at the end of the day, it's not how much you have or how much you accomplished that counts.  What matters is how well you have participated in your own life, both the ordinary routines and the extraordinary surprises."   Deborah brings these 5 ethical principles to life through her own life stories.  She provides opportunities for self- reflection as she challenges us to apply yogic wisdom to our lives today.  Gaining the skills to choose attitude, thought, and action, may be the grandest adventure you can take.  Come to this workshop to explore how you might better participate in your own life.  Lecture, discussion, and self-reflection.

Cultivating the Inner Life with the Niyamas - Sunday 1 - 3 pm

The second half of yoga’s ethical practice is an invitation to cultivate the inner life of a mystic by teaching the mind to enjoy the simpler things of life.  Like planting seeds in a garden, we are tending practices that create harmony rather than discord.

The 5 practices of purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender create a harmonious inner landscape upon which the mind can rest and the world can be blessed.  Explore your own inner life through lecture, discussion, and self-reflection.

Deborah Adele, MA, ERYT500, has made the yamas and niyamas household words with her ground-breaking book on yoga’s ethical practice.  Bringing these spiritual concepts into daily practical application, her book is being used throughout the United States and Canada in yoga certification, coaching, addiction, and prison programs.

Deborah has a background in yoga philosophy, somatic education, business, and theology.

Individual Session - $35

All 3 - $95
